Diabetes Prevention Program

Are you at high risk for type 2 diabetes? If you are overweight, inactive and have family history of diabetes you may be eligible to join the Diabetes Prevention Program at the Metabolic Health Center.

The program offers group support and coaching from a certified lifestyle coach for an entire year! The group meets weekly for the first 6 months, then monthly for the second six months. At each meeting, the lifestyle coach leads a discussion on healthy eating, activity or stress management.

Program goals:

  • Maintain 150 minutes activity per week.
  • Lose 5% initial body weight by 6 months and maintain weight loss for the second 6 months.

Criteria to participate:

  • Over 18 years old.
  • Overweight (BMI >25).
  • High risk for diabetes based on lab work OR received positive results from the Center for Disease Control’s diabetes risk test
