FSU and TMH Residency Program Receives Initial Accreditation

May 25, 2012

Florida State University and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare received good news this week in the effort to jointly develop a new internal medicine residency program: The program has received initial accreditation, clearing the way for a possible opening in the summer of 2012.

"We've had a high level of interest from potential residents and I expect that the interest will intensify once the news of our accreditation gets out," said Gregory Todd, M.D., director of the Florida State University College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approved the initial accreditation for a two-year period beginning July 1. The program is permitted to have as many as 36 residents at capacity.
