On Good Friday, dull gray skies unleashed sheets of rain. A precious package, a concrete dove, sat upright on a trailer latched to a demolition pickup truck.
The dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, was encased by bricks from the original walls at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. In time, the church outgrew its Miccosukee Road home. The property later was acquired by Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to make way for a new surgical center. Holy Comforter moved to a newer, larger building on Fleischmann Road.
