Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is the first hospital in the Southeast, and third commercially in the United States, to implant the WATCHMAN Left Atrial Appendage Closure device since its approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in March 2015.

The Golden Gala has been a tradition in Tallahassee since it was created by the TMH Foundation in 1984 and has raised millions in funds for the hospital, said foundation president Paula Fortunas. She added recently, the event has raised $1 million per year for the hospital.
