Evidence Based Practice
Evidence-based practice combines patient preferences, clinical expertise, and the latest research evidence to provide optimal patient outcomes.
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare strongly believes in evidence-based practice and has shown its commitment to this clinical approach by establishing the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Center for Research and Evidence-Based Practice at Florida State University’s College of Nursing.
By establishing this center, TMH provides the structure and opportunities enabling Florida State students and faculty to make significant contributions to the advancement of nursing science and practice. The goals of the center are to:
- Collaborate with the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare nursing staff in their efforts to improve nursing practice.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaborative research efforts to institute best practices in healthcare based on evidence.
- Enhance undergraduate, masters and doctoral level student learning with regards to evidence based practice and nursing research.
Benefits of the collaboration extend beyond FSU and TMH as new best practices are shared with the nursing and medical communities nationwide.
