Get to Know the Doctor

Get to Know the Doctor

What inspired you to become a physician?
I was inspired to become a physician by “hanging” out with my mother who worked at the hospital, and enjoyed seeing her care for patients. I was also involved as a child, in Red Cross, and Girl Guides, thus volunteering and charitable work became enjoyable to me.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy dancing, going to the gym, playing with my children, and spiritual pursuits.

How do your patients describe you?
My patients describe me as thorough, kind and they appreciate the time I take to listen to thb.

In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship?
The most important factor in a doctor patient relationship is communication, and trust in your partnership.

Do you have any advice for the patients who see you?
Advice for patients who see me is to be honest about your history, realize the importance of following through with lab orders and various tests as I will try to explain why we need to do these, as I will try to deliver excellent, up to date medical care.

What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
One of the most rewarding moments in my career is being able to investigate reason for a condition, and then finally implbent treatment modality to see a patient walk out of the hospital.  Another is preventative medicine, that is being able to diagnose cancer early before it has become incurable.

Do you have any specific medical interests?
My special interests in internal medicine include cardiology, and preventative health (cancer screening), weight loss and nutrition.
