Led by an expert team of board-certified medical oncologists, Tallahassee Memorial provides chemotherapy and hormone therapy to patients in the Angie Deeb Cancer Unit and in a special infusion area on the second floor of the Cancer Center.

What is Chemotherapy?

Surgery and radiation therapy are considered “local treatments” because they act on specific areas of the body. Chemotherapy is almost exclusively used as a systemic treatment; meaning is travels through the whole body to reach cancer cells.

How Does Chemotherapy Work?

Chemotherapy can be administered several ways: oral, intravenous (IV), intramuscular, or subcutaneous. Often chemotherapy and hormone therapy are used in combination with other treatments to fight a cancer into remission, control tumor growth or shrink a tumor.

We develop custom treatment options designed to help oncology patients reach remission.
