Our 23-bed inpatient children’s unit is the largest in the Big Bend region. Our 10-bed pediatric ICU (PICU) is the only hospital unit within 100 miles of Tallahassee specifically equipped to care for critically ill children. Both units are part of the Children’s Center, located on the second floor of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Hospital visits can be stressful for young patients. We provide:
- Engaging distraction devices (iPads, TVs, and interactive games)
- Techniques to reduce needle pain (buzzy, numbing cream, and freeze spray)
- Treatment tools specific to children (vein finder, treatment room, and playroom)
