Atrial Fibrillation Clinic
We are the region’s first and only clinic dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib). Through the clinic we provide easier access to care, comprehensive treatment plans and advanced procedures available only at select hospitals.
What is AFib?
AFib is the most common arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) affecting Americans. It is also the most overlooked. Diagnosing and treating the condition and its side effects requires the expertise of a trained specialist.
Board-certified electrophysiologists, specialized in heart rhythm disorders, administer our clinic. Each patient receives a care plan that is coordinated by a team of physicians, nurses and ancillary clinicians experienced in the care of patients with AFib.
AFib Nurse Navigator
Our AFib nurse navigators are trained medical professionals who help to coordinate each patient’s care. They provide education on each component of the treatment plan and address questions or concerns patients have. Our nurse navigators also keep each patient’s referring physician updated on how the patient is doing and what the transition and future treatment plan should be.
Treatment Options for AFib Patients
Patients at our AFib Clinic have access to a number of advanced procedures for their AFib and the complications commonly associated with the condition:
- Blood clots
- Heart failure
Patients who are referred to the clinic receive an appointment within two weeks, we are able to get the evaluation process started quickly.
