Flamingo Challenge, presented by First Commerce Union, is back with a fun, funky new friend. Meet Franny. She shows up to support breast cancer patients, but she can’t do it alone.

Franny needs YOU to join her for the 2025 Flamingo Challenge, which raises critical support for patients of the Walker Breast Program. There are several ways to participate.

New This Year

Enter the Dress a Flamingo Contest. You’ll receive a funky flamingo to decorate for bragging rights and cool prizes. You enter by making your donation here to receive a 5-foot-tall Franny to decorate! You can pick her up at:

  • The TMH Foundation, 1331 E. 6th Avenue, Tallahassee, or
  • First Commerce, 3343 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308

Decorate your Franny and then post a picture of her on social media with the hashtag #TMHFlamingoChallenge. Be sure to tag the TMH Foundation and First Commerce Credit Union.

Then join us for the Frannies Fly Home party from 5:30 to 7 pm, Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center. Bring your Franny for the chance to win cool prizes in the decorating contest. Then all the decorated Frannies will be displayed at the Cancer Center to bring love and encouragement to our patients.

As a nonprofit hospital, TMH treats everyone – regardless of their ability to pay. Your donations stay in our community and are used to ease the burdens of cancer treatment. Flamingo Challenge funds are used for:  

  • Covering the cost of imaging services for uninsured patients. These are life-saving scans that help doctors determine how to treat each patient.
  • Providing lodging and transportation at no cost to patients who need assistance.
  • Making advanced treatments available in Tallahassee.

How the Challenge Works

  1. Complete the #FlamingoChallenge registration form, which contains instructions on where and how to pick up your flamingo yard card and make your initial donation. There are two options for picking up your flamingo yard card:
    • The TMH Foundation, 1331 E. 6th Avenue, Tallahassee, FL.
    • First Commerce Thomasville Road Financial Center, 3343 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
  2. Think about how you’d like to fundraise with your team. Here are some ideas:
    •    Pledge a portion of proceeds from a product, service, dish, drink or event.
    •    Collect change/offer to round up purchases at your business’s checkout.
    •    Host an auction or raffle with items like a paid day off or a coveted parking spot.
    •    Host a contest (costume contest, chili cookoff, bakeoff) with donations for votes.
    •    Issue a challenge to do something silly or adventurous if a fundraising goal is met. (I.e. Dunk tank)
    •    Donate in honor of someone who has battled cancer.
  3. Proudly display your flamingo yard card in a visible area!
  4. Post photos of your display on social media, tagging the TMH Foundation and First Commerce Credit Union with the hashtags #TMHFlamingoChallenge.
  5. At the end of the month, turn in all donations to the TMH Foundation, 1331 E. 6th Ave., Tallahassee, FL, 32303. You can give online or via check.
