What is FSU Health?

FSU Health is Florida State University's academic health system, bringing together hospitals, physicians, clinics, research, education and innovation under a unified vision to improve the health of the communities it serves.

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare will serve as the clinical anchor of FSU Health in North Florida while continuing to provide the care our community knows and trusts. We are partnering with FSU to expand medical education, research and access to advanced clinical care.

Will the advancements made through FSU Health increase my healthcare costs?

FSU Health is designed to strengthen healthcare across North Florida by bringing together clinical care, education, research and innovation—not to shift the cost of these advancements to patients. There are no changes to the insurance plans we currently accept as a result of this partnership. What you pay will continue to depend on the care you receive, your insurance coverage and your plan benefits.

Will my health insurance still be accepted, and can I continue seeing my current physician or healthcare provider?

Yes. There are no changes to the insurance plans we currently accept as a result of becoming FSU Health, and you can continue seeing your current physicians and healthcare providers as you do today. Your care team and access to care will remain the same as we move forward with this transition.

Yes. Florida State University and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare have worked together to establish this long-term partnership and finalize the agreements.

Patients should not experience disruptions to their care, appointments, insurance coverage or access to services as a result of the transition.

What is the FSU Health Research & Collaboration Building?

The FSU Health Research & Collaboration Building is a new academic and research facility on the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital campus designed to connect research, medical education and patient care. It is expected to include clinical research space, laboratories, education and training space, and related programs that support the academic health center model.

The FSU Health Research & Collaboration Building is not replacing the hospital. It is part of the broader FSU Health academic health system and is intended to help bring research and innovation closer to the patients and communities we serve.
