How to Help Babies and Children at TMH
All donations help babies and children who are being cared for in the Tallahassee Memorial Children’s Center, Tallahassee Memorial Metabolic Health Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Services, Radiology, Surgical Care, Family Care Unit and the Newborn ICU (NICU).
The Child Life Specialist in the TMH Children’s Center and providers in each pediatric service area care for the emotional wellbeing of children as they are receiving medical care. A trip to the treasure chest for a child with health challenges can brighten their day, or a fun game may take their mind off of the long days in the hospital. From favorite toys to huggable stuffed animals to clothing needed for some children, our teams know what their patients need and are thankful for funding to provide encouragement and essential items. Each dollar donated for Pediatric and NICU needs makes it possible for healthcare staff to purchase what is needed when it is needed to best serve children.
Wish List
We are deeply grateful for the many ways generous donors show their care for patients. For several reasons, including infection control and storage and distribution logistics, we can no longer accept donated books and toys directly from the community. Please consider the following ways to help meet the year-round needs of our pediatric patients:
- Donations to the Pediatric Unit allow our Child Life Specialist and providers in each service area to identify current needs and purchase items in appropriate quantities on a regular basis. Gifts may be made securely online (Please type "Pediatric Wish List" in the comments) or by mailing a check made out to “TMH Foundation” to TMH Foundation, 1331 East 6th Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32303. *Please write “Pediatric Wish List” in the memo of your check.
- Gift cards to Amazon and Wal-Mart can often be leveraged with matching funds to maximize the number of items each dollar will purchase. Please mail or hand-deliver gift cards to the TMH Foundation, 1331 East 6th Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32303.
