Spring Into Exercise
March 15, 2016It’s that time of year again – the cold temperatures are drifting away, the sun is out and those winter clothes are going back into storage. Now is the perfect time to ditch your indoor routine and take advantage of the gorgeous weather by “springing into action!” Looking for some healthy outdoor exercises to enjoy? Try these suggestions:
WALKING
For an optimal workout, walk for one hour a day at least three days a week. To get your heart pumping, you should alter your pace during the walk – go as fast as you can for one minute, then walk at a slower pace for the next minute. Stroll through Cascades Park for a scenic cardio workout. Learn more at DiscoverCascades.com.
YOGA
Sure, there are plenty of fantastic indoor yoga classes, but don’t forget to take advantage of the outdoors – being outside can create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for mellowing your mind. Find a quiet spot in a local park or your backyard. Check out Maclay Gardens for a relaxed and picturesque setting, learn more at FloridaStateParks.org. Namaste!
