TMH Selects ProxsysRx To Provide Retail and Specialty Pharmacy Services

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 11, 2023) –Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) has contracted with ProxsysRx to own and operate a retail pharmacy and build and operate a specialty pharmacy on the hospital’s main campus in Tallahassee.

Key benefits ProxsysRx will bring to the hospital, its patients and its colleagues — through both the retail pharmacy and specialty pharmacy operations — include:

• Expanded local access and purchasing options for high-cost, life-saving medications.
• Implementation and operation of bedside prescription delivery service for patients.
• Free ship-to-home refills and on-campus prescription delivery.
• A Prescription Savings Card for lower costs on many prescriptions.
• Expansion and optimization of the hospital’s own prescription-savings program.

ProxsysRx has already begun construction of both the Retail and Specialty Pharmacies, which will open later this year, and will provide TMH patients medications — at their bedside — as they discharge from the hospital. Both pharmacies will also work alongside the hospital to ensure that anyone visiting the campus has the opportunity to fill their medications, and receive refills, regardless of social determinates of health.

With its own Specialty Pharmacy, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare will give its patients the opportunity to have their care serviced locally and personally by Pharmacists who live in, and understand, the community. It’s the next level of care for their patients, and it’s an honor to play a critical supporting role their care.”

Our program also includes financial assistance for patients in need, which means patients go home with the medicines they need to recover, instead of worrying about how they’re going to afford them — or having to make unnecessary stops at off-site pharmacies on their way home from the hospital. That also means patients are much more likely to take their medicines and get better.
