Cardiothoracic Surgeon Erik Scott, MD, Joins TMH Physician Partners

Practice Expands Advanced Surgical Services

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Monday, Sept. 15, 2025) – TMH Physician Partners – Cardiothoracic Surgery is excited to welcome Erik Scott, MD, bringing exceptional training to the Big Bend region.

Dr. Scott earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Science, followed by his Master’s of Science in Medical Sciences, with a concentration in Molecular Medicine from the University of South Florida. He completed medical school at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he was awarded the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons Summer Internship and completed the internship in congenital heart surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He went on to complete his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Virginia Health System, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.

With family roots in Quincy, Dr. Scott is excited to bring his expertise home. “I want to be a part of the phenomenal health care that TMH provides to the community and my family,” he shares.

Dr. Scott specializes in coronary artery revascularization, aortic and mitral valve surgery, atrial fibrillation ablation, aortic surgery and thoracic surgery, caring for patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions. What he finds most rewarding is repairing a patient’s heart and seeing their quality of life restored.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Scott enjoys playing tennis and attending tennis tournaments, spending time at the beach with his family and relaxing with a good movie night.
