TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025) – Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) and the TMH Foundation are thrilled to announce that Grammy-nominated artist Teddy Swims will headline Golden Gala 2026. This is a rare, up-close opportunity to see a global star on the rise at Tallahassee’s premier black-tie philanthropic event.
Now in its 42nd year, the Golden Gala returns on Thursday, April 23, 2026, for an unforgettable private concert and dinner at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. The Golden Gala promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a global phenomenon in an intimate setting. Tables are available now at TMH.ORG/GoldenGala.
From Record-Breaking Hits to Mental Health Advocacy
Swims (born Jaten Dimsdale) has captivated audiences with his signature blend of genres; including R&B, country, soul and pop. Known for his powerhouse vocals and emotionally charged performances, he has emerged as one of music’s most compelling voices of his generation. His multi-platinum hits “Lose Control” and “The Door” from his debut album “I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1)” earned him a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards. With over 4 billion streams, “Lose Control,” still holds the record for the longest-charting Hot 100 hit in history.
With a sold-out world tour and widespread television appearances, Swims resonates with fans through raw emotion and honesty. His commitment to using music to spark conversation about mental health and healing makes him the perfect entertainer for Golden Gala 2026, which will help expand behavioral health services.
An Investment in Mental Health Care
Funds raised through Golden Gala 2026 and the TMH Foundation will support the expansion of behavioral health services in partnership with the Apalachee Center.
“For more than four decades, the Golden Gala has united our community in support of the future of healthcare,” said Nigel Allen, TMH Foundation President and Chief Advancement Officer. “We’re celebrating the power of music to heal, connect and spark conversation about mental health. Just as Teddy shares his journey through music, the Gala brings our community together to expand services – ensuring families and individuals across our region have access to compassionate, comprehensive care.”
Mark O’Bryant, CEO of TMH, said, “Expanding behavioral health services is critical to the well-being of our community. Apalachee Center and TMH have worked as close partners for many years to integrate and strengthen behavioral health services. Funds raised through the Golden Gala will help us build upon this partnership and respond to individuals and families experiencing mental health crisis.”
Mental well-being and substance abuse prevention are priorities for the region, as identified in the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment for Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla and Jefferson counties.
“The Apalachee Center team is profoundly grateful for the commitment of the TMH Foundation to highlight behavioral health at next year’s Golden Gala” said Jay Reeve, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Apalachee Center, which leads behavioral health services at TMH. “Apalachee Center and TMH have worked as close partners for years to integrate and expand access to behavioral health services in the Big Bend. Golden Gala 2026 will be an opportunity to showcase that partnership and help support the continued expansion of behavioral healthcare in this community.”
