About Me
Marvin A. Rhodes Jr., MD was born in Tallahassee, FL where he earned his medical degree from Florida State University. He then completed residency training in general surgery at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC, before returning home to join TMH in 2025. Dr. Rhodes is board-certified in general surgery and has experience in robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgical procedures.
As a Tallahassee native, Dr. Rhodes is proud to return home to serve the community that shaped him. His training provided comprehensive experience across a broad spectrum of general surgical care, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and robotic techniques.
Dr. Rhodes believes in a patient-centered approach to healthcare and is committed to delivering professional and individualized patient care with clear communication and shared decision-making. His practice focuses on a wide range of surgical conditions, including hernia repair, gallbladder disease, gastrointestinal surgery and skin and soft tissue conditions.
He is dedicated to offering thoughtful, evidence-based surgical options tailored to each patient’s needs, ensuring safe, effective care and optimal outcomes.
When outside the hospital, Dr. Rhodes enjoys spending time with his wife and five children.
