About Me
Brett Howard, MD, FACS was born in Miami, Florida and is a graduate of Florida State University. He obtained his medical degree at Florida State University. His residency was at The Medical Center of Central Georgia and its affiliation with Mercer University.
Dr. Howard has nearly 10 years of experience here in Tallahassee helping expand the general surgery program, including Trauma and local Pediatric surgical care. He is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Through his time at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare he has helped establish the Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and Hernia Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). Serving as Quality Chair of Surgery at TMH, Dr. Howard has made high quality surgical care his mission for the Big Bend region. When he’s not working, Dr. Howard and his wife like to enjoy the outdoors with their four children.
To be designated a “Surgeon of Excellence,” Dr. Howard has demonstrated excellence and high standards in hernia surgery, including surgical experience, volume, outcomes and adherence to best practices.
