When your doctor asks you what do you want me to do, call another doctor at same time as doctor is standing up ready for my 15 min to be up, and I feebly asked who would you call and the doctor says, I don't know. It's time to find another doctor. I put the blame on insurance companies insisting doctors limit time with patients to less than 30 min. I also realize doctors have bad days and act quickly or impatiently. But, I do care about understanding my health and like to hear what my doctor has to say plus having literature to share (as we were used to having in years past). Seems if I want detail of my health situation I have to go to WebMD, Cleveland or Mayo Clinic online. I'd rather think I have my personal physician to discuss my health with. I have been with Dr Blake for at least 8 years and felt at times, she was rushed; I understood. She was compassionate at several visits I had after my husband's death, as were her nurses and I'm sure spent more than 15 min with me. At 79 years old, I think this is the right time for me to change to a doctor who may have knowledge & patience with those of my generation who need time for hearing what information their doctor has to say, with time for questions from patients. And if another doctor /specialist is needed or could be helpful, there shouldn't be an issue with a primary care doctor suggesting that. I think of Dr Blake as a very good doctor and to the point that when I first started with her I recommended her to my son and his wife who became patients of hers to this day. It's just time for me to try Dr Wallace, who has been highly recommended by a couple of my 'geriatric' friends !
