Dr. Umaña attended Medical School at Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He completed his Internship, Residency in Internal Medicine (Chief Medical Resident), as well as his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of South Alabama Hospitals and Clinics in Mobile, Alabama.

His certifications include the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in Adult Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Nuclear Cardiology.

He currently practices at Southern Medical Group, P.A., and holds privileges at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare.

Dr Umana and his medical staff were wonderful. He explained things fully in lay terms and offered the least inhibiting approach. I felt I could trust him completely with my care. Sadly the new computer and telephone response system inhibited communication between myself and Dr Umana’s office to resolve the scheduling and orders issues caused by switching to a new system. I would much prefer to have been able to call and talk to his office directly.

I was suprised when Dr Urmana stated there wasn't anything I could do with my low HDL score. I also felt rushed with my appointment.

There was know issue. I love caring she had keep doing what you do and take care yourself that made me more motivated to keep living health and truly thank her for that.
