Our multidisciplinary facility, Live Oak Behavioral Health Center, brings psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists and licensed mental health professionals under one roof at 2600 Centennial Place in Tallahassee, Florida, to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Services
We offer specialized programs for adults (age 18 and older), children and adolescents of all ages, managing acute mental health or co-occurring substance use challenges.
Outpatient treatment is customized to fit your needs and goals. We closely tailor services and appointment frequency to the level of support needed.
We support more than just mental health. If you also need help for addiction or substance use, we provide intensive, gold-standard care.

Housed at Live Oak Behavioral Health Center, the Florida State University College of Medicine’s Psychiatry Residency Program brings fresh talent, research, expertise and resources to our treatment team. This program, which began in 2024, provides four years of psychiatric training for medical school graduates, addressing a critical need for more well-trained psychiatrists in the region and the state.
Traditional Outpatient Treatment
Our treatment program incorporates the services of psychiatrists, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychologist and licensed clinicians.
Traditional Outpatient treatment components include:
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Consultation
- Medication management
- Individual and family therapy utilizing evidence-based approaches such as:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
- Exposure and response therapy (ERP)
- Psychological testing and assessments
Intensive Services
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) by TMH – An Intensive On-Site Day Program
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a short-term (4-6 weeks), intensive on-site day program with no overnight stay. PHP is designed to provide group therapy five days a week, five hours a day, at Live Oak Behavioral Health Center.
Groups focus on emotional regulation, stress management, stabilization and skill-building. Our PHP program has been proven to accelerate recovery for those needing a step-down or an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. It includes a comprehensive evaluation, treatment plan and aftercare planning. And, if distance is a challenge, we now offer a full telehealth option.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) by TMH – Bridging the Gap Between Intensive Programs and Traditional Outpatient Therapy
The 8-week Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is ideal for participants ready to step down from the Partial Hospitalization Program or for those who need to step up from traditional outpatient services. Program services are similar to the Partial Hospitalization Program but are designed for those experiencing more moderate psychiatric symptoms. Treatment is provided at Live Oak Behavioral Health Center and occurs three days a week for three hours a day. Telehealth is an option.
Services provided through the PHP and IOP Programs include:
- Confidential and comprehensive mental health evaluations and assessments
- Skills-based group therapy with others who understand what you are experiencing.
- Medication management
- Post-treatment planning and care coordination
- Animal therapy (IOP and PHP), as well as art and music therapy (PHP only).
The PHP and IOP Programs accept Aetna Commercial, CHP, Humana Medicare, Medicare, Ambetter Commercial, United Healthcare Commercial & Medicare, and Wellcare Medicare.
