Donor Generosity Touches Each Service Line
Whether it’s providing funds for a new 3-D tomography mammogram machine or clinical scholarships, TMH donors make a huge impact on patient care.
Already this year, more than 30 clinical and nursing scholarships have been committed to TMH colleagues – all through donor support. And there isn’t a service line at TMH that has not benefited from the generosity of our donors.
Having been at TMH for more than 10 years, and in her current role for almost three, Kimberly Outlaw, RN, BSN, Service Line Administrator for Women’s & Children’s, has seen firsthand the tremendous impact generous support has on patient care.
“Whenever there was a need, the TMH Foundation and its donors have always been there,” she said. “From the giraffe beds in pediatrics and NICU to the isolettes for neonatal transport, we have had tremendous support in all of our critical care areas.”
Donor funds help support a variety of excellent services and care at TMH, which has the region’s only Level III NICU and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the region’s only High-Risk Labor & Delivery.
“I tend to get emotional when I talk about our service line,” Outlaw said. “We are the heartstrings of the community, and without our donors, we would not be able to do what we do today. We have the highly skilled services and equipment needed to provide these services — and our donors and colleagues help make this happen.”
Outlaw added, “In addition to these services, our Child Life Program — the only one in our region — has benefited from donor support, which helped us purchase a Zono machine made for cleaning and sanitizing toys to assure our infection control needs are met.”
