Enjoy an evening of celebration and hope as we honor and support those in our community battling cancer — including this year’s honoree FSU Softball Head Coach Lonni Alameda.
Honoring Coach Lonni Alameda
As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of this special event, we are proud to recognize FSU Softball Head Coach Lonni Alameda as our 2026 honoree.
Long before her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2025, Coach Lonni — affectionately known as “Coacha” — was making a difference in the lives of local cancer patients. Through Florida State's Paint It Pink initiative, she and her players have raised funds to support local breast cancer patients and have regularly visited the Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center, offering encouragement and hope to women and men facing all types of cancer.
When Coach Lonni received her own diagnosis, she faced it with the same strength and optimism that have inspired generations of student-athletes. By sharing her story, she has become an even more powerful advocate for women facing breast cancer, reminding them that they are never alone.
With her signature pink braid, she has continued to raise funds and give personally to support our neighbors, friends and family who are diagnosed with cancer.
Your Turn
Every dollar raised through Cards for a Cure stays in our community, providing support to local patients. That could mean helping a patient without insurance get a PET scan, providing hotel lodging for an out-of-town patient, or providing gas cards and other transportation support for patients who need assistance.
